Once again this academic year, the Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has hosted the Services Fair, an event that allows students to learn firsthand about the services, organizations, and projects that are part of university life.
The initiative is aimed primarily at students who have just joined the campus, but also at those who have been here for several academic years and want to learn about new activities and opportunities to participate in.
Campus administrators note that the purpose of this initiative is “to introduce students to all the services and opportunities offered by the Gandia campus beyond the classroom, as a complement to their academic education.”

Library, ICE, SIE, International… and the campus’s Generación Espontánea groups
Throughout the day, various university departments and groups showcased their activities and answered students’ questions. Among the participants were the Library, the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE), the International Office, the Campus Student Council or the Integrated Employment Service (SIE).
“Even though we’re in our first year, we’ll need internships in our third and fourth years, so we wanted to find out more”, Yasuan explained at the SIE booth on campus, which is responsible for managing initiatives and programs designed to facilitate students’ entry into the professional world and promote the development of skills that enhance their employability.
Also present at the Services Fair were the campus’s “Generación Espontánea” groups: student-led associations and projects, such as Book Club, EPSG Film Club, Polymono, Advanced EPSG or the campus string ensemble.
“I’ve always loved reading, and when we saw that Biblioclub was a university group, we stopped to ask about it”, said Ainara and Mónica, freshmen at the campus.
For their part, representatives from Advanced EPSG explained to the student who approached their booth that “we need all kinds of profiles”. As Mario points out, “That’s the only way we can produce better projects or take on projects that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to get off the ground”.
With that same goal in mind, Polímono participated in the fair in search of actors and actresses “to help the group grow, find new faces for our auditions, and ensure that all the projects we have this year are viable”, Moisés explained.
The Gandia City Council also had a booth at the Services Fair, where it provided information about the city to everyone who stopped by throughout the day.
An event that connects students with the campus
The Services Fair is part of the PIAE+ and complements the Orientation Week. Its goal is to help students become familiar with the resources available to them right from the start of the academic year, answer their questions, and help them find activities, projects, and opportunities for participation that will enrich their college experience.
The positive reception of this year’s event has once again highlighted students’ interest in learning about the opportunities the campus offers and in actively participating in campus life.
