EdCHANGE 2019 is a one-day forum hold on July 10, 2019, organised by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) as an event to discuss and learn best practices on effective educational change for undergraduate and graduate studies. The selected speakers talk about their experience and best practices in new models for learning and teaching in higher education. Attendees can interact with speakers and learn about practical aspects of their teaching models.
Hack-Ed: Participation of a group of selected UPV students in an "educational hackathon" on July 8 and 9. This activity aims to find out the students' perspective on how higher education should change and adapt to our time. Each team present their learning and teaching model during the Forum.
During the session, the speakers presented their ideas on how the university should face the new challenges in education: the new realities with a different student body, the new roles of the teaching staff, learning by doing, sustainability, etc. If you click on the image, you will find a summary in the form of a mind map:
Interesting proposals made by our students and other students participating in the Educational Hackathon: project-based learning, teamwork, multidisciplinarity, integration of extracurricular activities and development of skills. Congratulations to everyone for the interest shown in this activity and, in particular, to the winning team, Team 5. Their “Level App” is an original proposal for the integration of challenges in the curriculum organised in levels according to the scope of the competencies they develop: academic projects, entrepreneurship projects and projects with institutions or companies. Students can "unlock" the next level or challenge when they have acquired the necessary skills in the previous challenges.
