The main objective of this course is for the student to reach a B2 level of English language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). For this reason, and following the CEFR descriptors for level B2, the subject has as general objectives the achievement of the following competences by the students:

1. Being able to understand the main ideas of written texts and oral discourses that deal with both concrete and abstract topics, even if they are of a technical nature, as long as they are within their field of specialization.

2. Being able to relate to other speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and naturalness so that communication is carried out without effort on the part of the interlocutors.

3. Being able to produce clear and detailed texts on various topics as well as defend a point of view on general topics indicating the pros and cons of the different options.

Language knowledge equivalent to level B1 described by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MRE) of the Council of Europe.
