Abstract
After completing this course, students should have attained an upper intermediate level of English equivalent to C1 as described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MRE) of the Council of Europe. Therefore, the general objectives of this course are:
To understand extended speech even when not clearly structured and when relationships are only implied and not signalled explicitly
To understand long and complex written texts
To express themselves fluently and spontaneously in spoken discourse without much obvious searching for appropriate expressions e. Use language flexibly and effectively for professional purposes
To express themselves in clear, well-structured written texts. To write about complex subjects in a letter, essay or report
Recommended prior knowledge
Language knowledge equivalent to level B2 described by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MRE) of the Council of Europe.
