Description of the title
The Master’s Degree deepens the related knowledge in the fields of urban planning and territory, as well as in its transportation systems, both land and maritime. In the former, it fundamentally deepens in the aspects related to planning; as for transport, in addition to the planning aspects, it advances in aspects of design, operation and management.
The Master provides advanced practical and professional training, with a global and multidisciplinary vision of transport and territory. In addition, it offers the possibility of choosing a curricular itinerary oriented towards research, providing a solid base for the subsequent development of a doctoral thesis.
The Master becomes an opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge and develop the necessary skills in the field of transport, territory and urban planning.
Objectives of the degree
The main training objectives of the Master’s Degree in Transport, Territory and Urban Planning are:

To provide an integrated vision of urban planning and territory and its transportation systems, both terrestrial and maritime.

To train technicians to adequately manage and optimize the resources that companies and institutions related to transportation, territory and urban planning make available to them.

To deepen, from a practical point of view, in aspects that are dealt with at a basic level during undergraduate university education, fundamentally related to the planning, design, operation, conservation and management of the different transportation systems.

To provide a solid knowledge base, both in planning and management, to develop the capacity to analyze the environment in which public transport infrastructures and services are framed.

To provide advanced knowledge (technical and scientific) in aspects related to the planning and management of the territory, its transport infrastructures and related public services.

Improve the ability to adapt quickly to new environments.

To provide skills in leadership and human resources management.

To optimize the decision-making capacity in the context of the sector related to transportation, territory and urban planning.

The profile of the students to whom the Master’s Degree is addressed is that of graduates in one of the following areas:
- Official Spanish university degree in Civil Engineering
- Degree in Public Works Engineering
- Degree in Transportation and Logistics Management
- Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture
- Degree in Technical Architecture
- Degree in Geomatics Engineering and Surveying
- Master’s Degree in Road, Canal and Port Engineering
- Master’s Degree in Architecture
- Or equivalent degrees. The Master’s Academic Committee may evaluate other similar official university degrees obtained in foreign countries.

Note: In this subject a maximum of 15 ECTS can be carried out in external curricular internships (The syllabus contemplates a maximum of 15 ECTS for external curricular internships).

Internships
The Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos is in permanent contact with the professional environment in which our students of the different degrees and master’s degrees taught at the School, including the Master’s Degree in Transport, Territory and Urban Planning, will have to develop. During your studies you can carry out external internships to bring your training closer to the reality of professional activity.
In the section “Internships in UPV Pathways” you can find the offer of internships in companies, as well as the offer of jobs that are received in the School by the companies. All internships are paid with a minimum of 300 euros per month, for 4 hours of work per day.
Curricular
They are included in the Syllabus in the Practicum Module. The subject, which is optional, has a maximum of 12 ECTS.
Extracurricular
These are internships that students may perform on a voluntary basis during their training period and, although they have the same purposes as the curricular internships, they are not part of the Study Plan.
Students who wish to do an internship in a company must register in the SIE curriculum database. UPV Integrated Employment Service and participate in the selection processes that are open. On the other hand, the School supports our students with ideas of business entrepreneurship, providing spaces and means to develop their activity in the early stages of entrepreneurship and guided from the Ideas Institute of the UPV.

Academic exchange / agreements with other universities
The ETS de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos of Valencia offers for its different academic degrees the possibility of acquiring international experience through academic exchange.
