A FIELD TRIP AS PART OF THE “SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENT” COURSE INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO THE REALITIES OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN VILLENA AND AT THE LA ENCINA WINERY

On Friday, October 23, 2026, the first-year students of the Master’s Degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding (MMGV) will take part in a field trip as part of the Specific Plant Breeding course, coordinated by the professor Adrián Rodríguez.

This activity will allow students to connect the content covered in the course with the realities situations in the agri-food sector and supplement the training they have received in the classroom with hands-on experience in the field.

The day will begin with a visit to Agrícola Villena, in Villena (Alicante), which will include both its facilities and some nearby fields.

Afterward, the group will travel to La Encina Winery, where they will visit the winery before heading back to Valencia.

The field trip, with 31 participants, provides an opportunity to complement the academic training of the MMGV program with hands-on field experience, exposing students to different realities within the sector and fostering a connection between the knowledge acquired in the classroom and its practical application.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. from the UPV and will conclude with the return to campus, scheduled for approximately 7:00 p.m..
