The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has published a new tender for the contracting of a sustainable maintenance service for the landscaped areas on the Vera and Gandía campuses. The purpose of the contract is to ensure the proper conservation of the university green areas -including vegetation, landscaped spaces and irrigation systems-, contributing to maintain a quality environment at the service of the university community.
The bid incorporates the environmental sustainability criteria. The company’s main objective is to minimize the impact of maintenance tasks. In this sense, priority is given to optimizing water and energy consumption. The contract reinforces the responsible use of fertilizers and phytosanitary products, limiting their application to what is strictly necessary. The contract also reinforces the responsible management of waste generated, encouraging its correct separation, treatment, and recovery, and promoting reuse practices, such as composting plant remains.
The initiative is part of the UPV’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its environmental practices and the development of more sustainable, resilient and resource-efficient campuses.
