From March 2024 to June 2025, work is being carried out on the energy rehabilitation of the rectorate building (building 2E-3A of the Vera campus), financed by the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP) of the Valencian Community.
The project includes the waterproofing of the roof of building 2E-3A to solve the problems of water seepage, the replacement of obsolete air conditioning equipment and the installation of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption of electricity. The work is being carried out in three phases:
- First phase: Intervention on the roof of the Student Services (level 2) and on the south part of the rector’s office roof (level 3). This phase includes waterproofing, insulation, renovation of the air conditioning system and finishing with a (partial) green roof.
- Second phase: The level 1 walkable area (east terrace) and the non-walkable area are waterproofed and insulated, as well as the level 3 north area.
- Third and final phase: Work is being carried out on the rest of the building’s roof (level 2), renewing the waterproofing and insulation, improving the air conditioning and, as a finishing touch, a 300 kW photovoltaic pergola will be installed.
The total amount awarded for the works (with VAT) is 4,137,454.06 €, of which 1,999,104.65 are financed by the European Union.
