CFD Simulation Applied to the Real World: RDT Ingenieros Shares Its Experience at the UPV

How is Computational Fluid Dynamics applied in real-world industrial projects? The RDT Ingenieros Center of Excellence in Numerical Simulation He’s visiting the UPV to show you firsthand how this powerful methodology is transforming sectors as diverse as aerospace, wind power, and data centers.

This talk has a clear objective: to bring the realities of the industry closer to undergraduate and graduate students as well as researchers, offering a practical and honest view of the professional world of CFD simulation. It’s a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the tools used, the challenges faced, and the types of projects undertaken by teams specializing in numerical simulation.

What will you see during the session?

The speakers will cover two main topics:

  • Industrial Case Studies: Real-world applications of CFD simulation in sectors such as aerospace, wind energy, construction, data centers, manufacturing, and hydraulics, among others. Specific examples that demonstrate the tangible impact of this methodology on real-world projects.
  • Key technologies: a review of the advanced simulation tools and software that the R&D team uses on a daily basis, tailored to the specific application and industry.

At the end of the presentation, there will be an open session for questions and discussion where you can ask the experts any questions or raise any concerns you may have.

The speakers

The session will be led by three professionals from the RDT Ingenieros Center of Excellence in Numerical Simulation:

  • Francisco José Lara Garachana, Director of the CoE (Center of Excellence).
  • Verónica Yunta Escribano, CFD Engineer.
  • Miguel Segarra López, CFD Engineer.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Department of Machinery and Internal Combustion Engines from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

A perfect opportunity for anyone interested in learning about the job market in numerical simulation and understanding how engineers tackle real-world challenges using state-of-the-art CFD tools.
