Exhibition of Dones de Ciència at the ETSIADI

The School of Aeronautical Engineering and Industrial Design (ETSIADI) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) hosts until March 8 an exhibition on the project Dones de Ciència.

Since February 11, the ETSIADI has been bringing together all the protagonists of this project promoted by the UPV, which pays tribute to 48 women of reference in their respective fields, through the eyes of as many experts in mural painting.

It does so through a reproduction of each of the murals in poster format on which you can read the name of the honored scientist and the discipline in which she is a reference, as well as the name of the artist who created the mural.

Behind all these posters you can also see the spectacular mural with which the Dones de Ciència project pays tribute to the Spanish researcher Concha Monje. Work of the artist Paola Delfín, this mural presides over the school’s lobby since December 2024.

“This exhibition aims to give visibility to the role of women in Science and Technology on such important days as the Day of Girls and Women in Science and Technology and International Women’s Day. With this we want to encourage all women in their scientific and technical vocation and promote equality in these sectors by joining the UPV’s Dones de Ciéncia project,” says Alicia Herrero, deputy director of Spontaneous Generation and Student Support at ETSIADI.

The exhibition was inaugurated on February 11 and will remain on display until International Women’s Day (March 8) and is part of the project Dones de Ciència (Women of Science), which has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
