First piece of handicraft designed by a former student of the ETSIADI, is now part of the Art and Heritage Fund of the UPV.

The “Buñuelera” is the first piece of craftsmanship that is part of the funds of art and heritage of the university. Designed by Isabel Alonso in the course 2014, this Monday the author presented together with Professor Martínez Torán, director of the Chair of Crafts, the piece to the area of Art and Heritage Fund of the Universitat Politècnica de València. The donation by the author of this design, made by a ceramic artisan and a wood turner, is part of the interest of our university in creating a collection of handicraft pieces, designed by former students of the ETSIADI. It so happens that this proposal received the Valencia Crea award in the design modality that year, awards that were given through the Valencia City Council. This work was also selected for the exhibition curated by Professor Martínez Torán in the Crafts Center of the Valencian Community (during the Valencia Design Capital, 2022), showing a decade of work developed between former students of ETSIADI and artisans of the Valencian Community. Isabel currently holds a PhD in Design from the Royal College of Art in London and continues to produce pieces and design projects on an ad hoc basis. The work has been received by the area, with the presence of its director, Antoni Colomina, and its technicians.
