Julia Rodrigo Cano, student of the ETSIADI-UPV, wins the XI Crafts Award of the Comunitat Valenciana in the category New Talents.
Julia Rodrigo Cano, a student of the School of Aerospace Engineering and Industrial Design of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (ETSIADI-UPV), has been awarded the XI Crafts Award of the Valencian Community in the category New Talents.
Julia, who is currently in her last year at the University of Delft thanks to the Erasmus program, has been recognized for ‘Akoustic Suport’, a piece made together with the Valencian luthier Sergi Martí and specifically designed to support the cello with a positive impact on the sound quality of the instrument.
Exhibited together with, among others, several finalist pieces by UPV students.
The project, developed last year in the Models and Prototypes Workshop course of the Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering Degree at the UPV, was part of the “RDS_13” exhibition, coordinated by Professor Manuel Martínez Torán, from the UPV Drawing Department, and exhibited at the Craftsmanship Center of the Valencian Community.
Currently, the piece is back in the temporary exhibition hall of the center, along with those of the other winners of the contest and the finalists of this eleventh edition, among which are Julia’s classmates such as Andrea Parra, Álvaro Selma, Clara Isabel Vercher, Adrián Calero and Laura Alcántara, as well as the work of a team that is finishing the degree, Circle Design.
