DivAirCity: The Role of Diversity and Inclusion in Climate Neutral Cities, is a European H2020 project that “recognizes, embraces and celebrates differences” in cities and leverages them to address the climate emergency. DivAirCity changes the urban paradigm by using diversity as a resource to define new models and services aimed at achieving culture-driven green cities. The project focuses on the nexus between people, places, peace, economic growth and its impact on air quality and decarbonization.
The project co-created Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in the pilot cities together with vulnerable citizens, developed an innovative and inclusive data framework and impact assessment methodology, and introduced a state-of-the-art blockchain-based application to encourage and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly behaviors. It also brought together 20 cities from around the world through its twinning program.
The exhibition shows the results of the project over its 4 years and the measures that have been taken in its five pilot cities: Aarhus (DK), Bucharest (RO), Castellón (ES), Orvieto (IT) and Potsdam (DE).
