Communities of the Future Exhibition – Inhabiting 2100

The first semester of muHAB aims to test architectural strategies for a possible urban future under climatic stress in the Mediterranean arc. As a phase of analysis prior to the project work, we revisit some of the paradigmatic examples of a developmental Spain that, with passive strategies and very low resources, already faced the need to inhabit a hot and dry climate in the southern part of its Mediterranean coast. We adopt a post-occupational perspective and a speculative method: how are the spaces that were designed and built in the 60s and 70s inhabited today? And how would they function in a future scenario of thermal stress?

This exhibition, curated by the student body, shows the results of our analysis, prior to the project exercise.
