The automation laboratory is equipped with 11 workstations, oriented to the practice of process automation and industrial communications. Each workstation consists of a personal computer with data acquisition cards, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and various educational prototypes (pneumatic bench, punching machine) to practice basic automation programming. The lab has a couple of industrial prototype models (conveyor belt system and automated warehouse) for the design of advanced automation schemes, including programming of variable speed drives and servo-drives to practice position and speed control. The computers are equipped with Software for automation programming, SCADA and OPC systems, Matlab and LabVIEW. The laboratory is located on the top floor of the 5D building (DISA – ETSII).
