"Unexpected Dialogues"
Every Thursday a film will be screened at the Casa del Alumno, in a screening room prepared for the occasion. Each session will be introduced and discussed briefly, at the end of the screening, by Javier Moral Martín, professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and film critic and theorist.
Sometimes, a chance encounter leads to more interesting conversations than those which are premeditated. Sometimes, juxtaposing two films that have little in common can give rise to unexpected dialogues that sends our conversation off on different tangents, or perhaps we have the same old conversation but from a different perspective.
“Unexpected dialogues” is a film series that aims to stimulate spontaneous conversations between apparently disparate films whose only point in common, on the surface, is their year of production. Selected in pairs, over every two sessions we will put two films under the spotlight and explore their history and the gaze that they cast on the world from the year of their making.
