
There are different types of UPV ID cards depending on the expiry date and the group to which the cardholder belongs.
It is provided with an intelligent chip, a bar code and a magnetic stripe, thus allowing the user to carry out remote operations. The UPV ID card is linked to the Bancaja savings bank (its logo being displayed on the card), which is the issuing institution. It is valid for 4 years after it has been issued.
Applicants may choose among three different versions::
UPV ID card & bank card, called carjeta
It performs a dual function: It is valid for both UPV identification and it can be used as a debit card. In this case, the cardholder must have a bank account in Bancaja.

UPV ID card & bank card & youth card
It comprises three different uses: Apart from its functions as UPV identification and debit card, it can also be used as a youth card. In this case, the cardholder must be under 26 years of age.

It is issued to those groups linked to the UPV for a very short period of time, such as visiting lecturers, etc.. It is also provided with a bar code, but it lacks the intelligent chip and the magnetic stripe thus limiting some of its services: The temporary card does not activate parking barriers at UPV.
