Postgraduate UPV

Posgrado UPV. Master, doctorado, Título propio

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has a wide offer of postgraduate studies. On the one hand, it offers official master's degrees, which are subject to public prices and have from 60 to 120 credits (one or two years long). These master's degrees allow the students to specialize in a specific area or to begin research tasks; moreover, they enable them to continue with a PhD program. On the other hand, one can study the non-official postgraduate courses, they include master's programs as well as the university specialist programs and professional specialist programs.

Official master's degrees and PhD programs

Students can choose among nearly 60 master's degrees in all fields of knowledge taught in the UPV. The cost of the enrolment in these Master'cs Degrees is subsidized and regulated by the state and Valencian authorities. Due to this reason, this cost is usually considerably lower than that of the non-official degrees (which are not subsidized). Moreover, students can ask for the grants that the Spanish Ministry, the Valencian Government and the UPV itself offer.

On the other hand, the aim of a PhD program is the advanced formation of students in the research techniques. It includes a formation period and a research period oriented to the elaboration and the public defense of the PhD thesis, which is an original research paper. The current UPV offer agrees with the most demanding quality systems of the Spanish Higher Education.

Non-official postgraduate courses

The Universitat Politècnica de València has an interesting list of non-official master's programs, university specialist programs and professional specialist programs. It offers these programs through its Life-long Learning Centre (CFP)Life-long Learning Centre (CFP) (open in a new windows).
