THE UPV PRESENTS THE 21ST EDITION OF ITS HISTORICAL JAZZ FESTIVAL FROM NOVEMBER 25 TO 28

The UPV presents the 21st edition of its historical Jazz Festival from November 25 to 28, which includes concerts in the three campuses

Born in 1995, the festival has been consolidated as a national reference over the last decade, in which the UPV has hosted concerts by top international artists such as the Cuban Roberto Fonseca and Omar Sosa (six times nominated for the Grammys) or the Brazilian Eliane Elias (five nominations), among many others.

This edition the UPV, that awarded him an Honorary Doctorate last September, wants to pay a special tribute to the German photographer Jürgen Schadeberg, known for his artistic links to Nelson Mandela and the main South African jazz musicians of the 20th century –the singers Dolly Rathebe and Miriam Makeba, the trumpet player Hugh Masekela and the saxophonist Kippie Moeketsi, among others -. His photo exhibition can be visited in the exhibition hall of the Rectorate (Campus de Vera, Valencia) until December 16.

During the festival, like in previous years, NOVEMBRE 2014 will include a ROW 0 through which the public can make donations that will go entirely to Cáritas.
