The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2018, internationally considered the most prestigious ranking of universities in the world for the objectiveness of their methodology, has reaffirmed today the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) as the best polytechnical university in Spain and number 1 of all the universities in València.
Recognizing the hard work of the institution directed by Francisco Mora, the ranking created by the Jiao Tong University of Shanghai maintains the elevated international status of the UPV, particularly relevant in the areas of both Engineering and Sciences.
In fact, the UPV is the only polytechnical university in Spain in the top 500 ranking, which classifies the best universities in the world and is led by Harvard, Stanford and Cambridge, in that order.
14 consecutive years among the 500 best universities in the world
It should also be pointed out that the ARWU, the first published world university rankings (its inaugural edition was in 2003), lists the UPV, for the fourteenth consecutive year, among the 500 highest quality universities in the world, where there are more than 20,000 institutions of higher education.
The UPV, internationally recognized in all world-class rankings
In addition to the ARWU 2018, the other two main rankings of world universities, QS and THE, accredit the educational level of the UPV. Last June, the QS World University Rankings, prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds, ranked the UPV at its highest position in its history, 310th, rising 63 places with respect to last year's same indicator.
One week later, the magazine Times Higher Education (THE) also situates the UPV among the Top 150 world's best universities under 50 years old.
