Thinking, producing, sustaining: production and self-management of artistic projects.
May 20 at 6.30 pm a Workshop will be held with the artistAnna Talens focused on one of the most relevant issues for the new generations of creators:how to transform an artistic idea into a real and sustainable project. The session, which will take place in classroom B-0-1, will focus on the practical tools needed to shape one’s own initiatives, from initial conception to production and dissemination, with special attention to the professional challenges faced by those starting out in the cultural field.
The workshop will explore aspects such as project self-management, the search for funding, collaborative work and the production, management and communication processes that operate behind any creative initiative. Through participatory dynamics and spaces for joint reflection, the objective will be to offer students useful tools to structure their own projects, detect possible blockages and facilitate their professional insertion in the sector.
The presence of Anna Talens reinforces the practical nature of the workshop, since her career combines academic research and development of large-scale artistic projects in international contexts. With a PhD in Fine Arts from the Universitat Politècnica de València, she was awarded the extraordinary doctoral thesis prize and the European mention for her research on the transformation of the experience of nature into art, a work that delves into concepts such as nomadism and ephemerality.
Among her recent projects stands out Palafit, developed for CaixaForum València. Currently, the artist is participating in the exhibition Between the lighthouse and the abyss, integrated in the program Territories in transit of IVAM, consolidating a career that combines artistic production, research and a strong pedagogical dimension that now will be transferred to this workshop.
