121 UPV researchers are included in the World’s Top 2 % Scientists of Stanford University

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has 121 researchers among the most influential in the world, according to the latest update of the Ranking of the World Scientists: World’s Top 2% Scientists, prepared by Stanford University.

Of the 121 UPV researchers on the list, 45 appear in both rankings.

The rankingis composed of two lists: one that establishes the ranking according to scientific trajectory and another that focuses exclusively on publications in the last year.

Scientific career

In the rankingThe first researcher linked to the UPV is Avelino Corma, ranked 33rd in the world; Corma works at the Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIC-UPV); he is followed by Juan Bisquert and Hermenegildo García, also from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ).

Completing the top 5 of UPV researchers, according to the World’s Top 2 % Scientists,José Capmany, from the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM – UPV) and Jaime Lloret, from the Research Institute for Integrated Coastal Zone Management (IGIC – UPV Gandia).

Top annual

The rankingAvelino Corma also heads the list of the most cited researchers of the UPV in the last year and Juan Bisquert repeats in second position. He is followed by Jaime Lloret and Hermenegildo García. Pau Amaro Seoane, from the University Institute for Multidisciplinary Mathematics Research (IMM – UPV), closes the top 5.

It should be noted that the UPV names included in the Stanford 2% excel in a wide range of fields of knowledge, such as chemistry, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, electronics, physics, agricultural engineering, industrial engineering and computer science, among others.

Indicators analyzed

Ranking of the World Scientists: World’s Top 2% Scientists identifies the world’s top researchers, representing approximately 2% of all scientists worldwide. It includes standardized citation data, h-index and a wide range of bibliometric indicators. Research personnel are ranked in 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, based on Scopus data provided by Elsevier through the ICSR Lab.
