The new garden annexed to the 5I building is now operational, a simple transformation of an open space of the UPV with a great impact on the biodiversity of the campus. Landscape architect Sofía Martínez has designed a temporary green space with sustainability criteria. Two herbaceous meadows have been created that encourage flora and require reduced maintenance, safe and resilient tree species have been chosen, and water management is done through permeable paving and drainage ditches.
This action, together with others such as the garden between buildings 4I, 4Q, 4N and 4F or the landscaping of the roof of the ETSINF UPV is part of the ecological transition project. The aim is to provide the exterior spaces of the campus with greater biodiversity and environmental value, adapting them to the foreseeable effects of climate change and for the benefit of the university community.
