Leadership program and positioning of women in organizations.


On the initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Employment, Lifelong Learning and Languages, the Universitat Politècnica de València created the programEMPLOYThe purpose of this program is to promote and consolidate female leadership and positioning in organizations.

Through this program, students in their final years and recent graduates of the UPV will have the opportunity to develop and enhance their personal and professional skills to reach, in the future, leadership positions.

The program establishes the framework for women in positions of responsibility who are committed to female leadership to become role models and guides for UPV students and graduates, while receiving specialized training from a prestigious business school.

Objectives

As a university committed to the training and development of the employability of its graduates, we want to take a step forward in favor of the group of young women of the UPV, so that they have the necessary tools to reach positions of responsibility in the world of work, according to their potential, and be a model for future generations of UPV students.

Knowledge of female potential UPV: identify young UPV students and graduates with the potential to develop a promising professional career.

Promotion of female leadership:To provide participants with the tools to enhance their capabilities and aspire to become leaders in their organizations.

Management skills training:The participants will acquire knowledge and develop attitudes that will enable them to break down barriers in their professional development.

Learning in the work environment:Through the challenges posed by the mentors, the students will provide solutions in real business environments.

Improved job placement prospects:To increase the confidence of the young women participants and help them see their chances of entering the labor market and moving into management positions.

Commitment to equality and sustainability:Supporting companies in their efforts to incorporate female talent as a guarantee of modernization and survival.

Therequirementsto participate are:

  1. Be a female UPV student enrolled in:
    • Last 2 years of an official undergraduate degree,
    • University Master’s Degree,
    • student of the Doctoral School of the UPV,
    • or, be a UPV graduate, having completed studies in the last two years prior to the current one.
  2. Be a Spanish national or a foreigner with long term residence in Spain.
  3. Have an English certificate, minimum level B2.
  4. Not having been a beneficiary of this scholarship in previous editions.

Forty-two scholarships will be awarded.

The participants, while participating in the challenges set by their mentors, receive training in women’s leadership by theWomen and Leadership Chair of the prestigious business schoolIESE Business School – University of Navarra and experts of theUPV in the subjects provided, which will be accredited with a diploma.
