Emplea 2024- 2nd edition
Leadership program and positioning of women in organizations.
Polytechnic University of Valencia
On the initiative of the Vice-rectorate for Employment and Lifelong Learning, the Universitat Politècnica de València created the programEMPLOYThe purpose of this program is to promote and consolidate female leadership and positioning in organizations.
Through this program, students in their final years and recent graduates of the UPV will have the opportunity to develop and enhance their personal and professional skills to reach future leadership positions.
The program establishes the framework for women in positions of responsibility, who are committed to female leadership, to become an example and guide for students and graduates of the UPV, while they receive specialized training provided by a prestigious business school.

Objectives
As a university committed to the training and development of the employability of its graduates, we want to take a step forward in favor of the group of young women of the UPV, so that they have the necessary tools to reach positions of responsibility in the world of work, according to their potential, and be a model for future generations of UPV students.

Knowledge of female potential UPV: identify young UPV students and graduates with the potential to develop a promising professional career.
Promotion of female leadership:To provide participants with the tools to enhance their capabilities and aspire to become leaders in their organizations.
Management skills training:The participants will acquire knowledge and develop attitudes that will enable them to break down barriers in their professional development.
Learning in the work environment:Through the challenges posed by the mentors, the students will provide solutions in real business environments.
Improved job placement prospects:To increase the confidence of the young women participants and help them see their chances of entering the labor market and moving into management positions.
Commitment to equality and sustainability:Supporting companies in their efforts to incorporate female talent as a guarantee of modernization and survival.
Addressed to:
On the one hand, the program is aimed at students and recent graduates who wish to become actively involved in the development of their managerial skills and gain first-hand knowledge of the work environment, and on the other hand, female professionals with positions of responsibility in prestigious organizations, who become mentors for these young women for 3 months.
Follow-up:
In order to know the impact that the program has had on the participants, they will be followed up to know their satisfaction with the program and its influence on their job positioning.
Participating companies:
The EMPLEA program is supported by private companies, companies and public institutions, such as city councils, provincial councils, etc., liberal professionals and professional associations, as well as the UPV itself.

1. Launch of the program
January 25, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
Presentation on January 25 at 10:30 a.m. at theNexus Building Assembly Hall, 6G The UPV, inviting women entrepreneurs, students in their final years and recent graduates UPV, and in general to the entire university community interested.
The presentation includes a promotional video of the Program, an inspirational talk by Boticaria García and the presentation of the mentors and the proposed challenges.
2.Registration of participants, evaluation of CVs and assignment of team challenges
January 26 to February 8, 2024
¡We have extended the registration deadline until February 14.!
Therequirementsto participate are:
- Be a female UPV student enrolled in:
- Last 2 years of an official undergraduate degree,
- University Master’s Degree,
- student of the Doctoral School of the UPV,
- or, be a UPV graduate, having completed studies in the last two years prior to the current one.
- Be a Spanish national or a foreigner with long term residence in Spain.
- Have an English certificate, minimum level B1.
- Not having been a beneficiary of this scholarship in previous editions.
Forty scholarships will be awarded.

3. Development of the mentoring projects of the participants.
The young women, in small groups, will come up with solutions to the challenge posed, supported by their mentor. They will prepare a short presentation and submit a report for evaluation. (phase 5)
4. Women’s leadership training
April 17 to May 21, 2024
The participants, while participating in the challenges set by their mentors, receive training in women’s leadership by theWomen and Leadership Chair of the prestigious business schoolIESE Business School – University of Navarra and experts of theUPV in the subjects provided, which will be accredited with a diploma.

1 On the 8th and 9th, the students only do one of the 2 sessions.


5. Exhibition of projects and call for prizes
June 25, 2024
Classroom 2.7 and 2.8 of the CFP, 2nd floor Nexus Building of the UPV – Vera Campus.
The participants will deliver their solutions to the challenges posed and will make a presentation to a committee/tribunal, which will evaluate them according to parameters indicated a priori. This tribunal will be composed of at least three women from the UPV, one of them being the Vice Rector of Employment and Lifelong Learning.
6. Awards Gala
On June 27, 2024 in the auditorium of the Nexus Building of the UPV – Vera Campus.
The godmother of the second promotion will present the prizes to the participants, which will consist of:
- 1st prize: 3.000€
- 2nd prize: 2.000€
- 3rd prize: 1.000€
Awards granted by the Ford Chair.
