Last Wednesday Minister Morant announced the new National Design Awards, and the company Viccarbe was awarded in the Design and Business category. Viccarbe was created by Victor Carrasco, a student of the first promotion of design of the ETSIADI, who the same summer he finished his final degree project, founded this furniture company. His brand, working with prestigious international designers (including this year’s award-winner, Patricia Urquiola) and the Mediterranean spirit that has characterized his designs from the very first moment, have opened up a niche for him on the world stage. In its design department, led by Rubén Mateo (who was a student at the School), more than one of our students work and have worked there (many of them started their internships there). We congratulate the company and congratulate all of us because they have received this timely recognition, after more than 25 years of history around design.
