Plenary Hall, Faura Town Hall (Plaça Mestre Garcés, 1) Map
Since time immemorial the town of Faura celebrates fair on the day of Santa Barbara. Born as a medieval concession, in other times it brought together trades such as blacksmith, rope-maker, master of the adze, esparto and blacksmith, among many others, who offered the fruit of their work in the village. It was a day of exchange and celebration, a prelude to the Christmas celebrations and was animated by turroneros, sugar makers, torrateros, water carriers, ice cream makers and toy makers. Over the years, the fair evolved from its commercial character to a recreational and family space, where the fairgrounds offered recreational products, sweets and toys. Within this framework, the exhibition“The Faura Fair and the traditional toy”.The story is told through the oldest and most emblematic pieces of the UPV Toy Museum invites us to rediscover the value of play as a resource for learning, expression and creativity; and at the same time, it is a tribute to the tradition of the Faura fair, to the memory shared between generations and to the intact magic of those toys that, even today, continue to awaken smiles and memories.
