For the second consecutive year, the students of the Spontaneous Generation program have been proclaimed European champions in flight in the European Rocketry Challenge ( EuRoC 2025), the continent’s most important university competition dedicated to rocket design and launching.
Held in Constância (Portugal) from October 9 to 15, the event brought together the best European universities specialized in aerospace engineering. The Valencian rocket, baptized as theSkybrakerachieved an impeccable takeoff and a stable and precise trajectory, reaching a3,021 meters apogee according to CATS avionics and3,025 meters with the SRAD system.
“The braking parachute deployed exactly at apogee and, although the main parachute did not open, the vehicle landed softly with minimal damage,” explained Luna Marhuenda Latorre, team leader and UPV student.
Formed by 46 students from different degrees, Faraday Rocketry consolidates its position as a European reference in experimental engineering. According to Marhuenda, “this milestone brings us one step closer to one of our major objectives: to reach space and become the first university team to achieve it”.
The Spontaneous Generation program is a pioneering initiative in Spain that promotes projects born from the students themselves, encourages experiential learning and supports participation in international competitions.
