Teleco Reunion

The UPV’s Gandia Campus will bring together its first telecommunications graduating classes to celebrate 30 years of history.

The first class of the Technical Engineering in Sound and Image program graduated in 1996. Thirty years later, the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) will bring together the first five graduating classes for a reunion to commemorate the program’s beginnings. The event will take place on September 18, 2026.

Three decades of training telecommunications professionals

The history of the Technical Engineering in Telecommunications with a focus on Sound and Image it dates back to October 1993, when classes began for a pioneering degree program that marked the start of university-level education in telecommunications at the UPV Gandia Campus.

Three years later, the first telecommunications engineers to have studied on campus graduated.

To mark this anniversary, the Gandia Campus will bring together the first five graduating classes of the program for an event specially designed as a reunion. The event will provide an opportunity to share memories and reconnect with former classmates and faculty members.

In addition, during this event, graduates celebrating the 25th and 30th anniversaries of their graduation will be honoured, highlighting their contribution to the history and development of academic programs that have played a decisive role in shaping the academic identity of the Gandia Campus.

For this reason, the administration of the UPV’s Gandia Campus encourages those who were part of these first graduating classes to participate in this celebration, which is intended as a gathering for those who played a key role in the consolidation of telecommunications studies at this institution.
