Absolute Success of “Dead Poets Society”

Polímono Fills the Campus Auditorium with Their New Theatrical Production.

Success was guaranteed. The Auditorium of the Gandia Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) was once again packed for Polímono’s new production. After months of rehearsals, the group presented “Dead Poets Society,” an adaptation inspired by the well-known story about the passion for literature, freedom, and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams.

The performance was a resounding success. The acting, the staging, and the dedication of the entire artistic and technical team moved the audience.

Set in the strict Welton Academy, the play shows how the arrival of Professor John Keating inspires his students to think freely and seize the day with the motto carpe diem. Driven by their passion for poetry, the young people revive the clandestine Dead Poets Society, a space where they celebrate freedom, dreams, and authenticity. However, their decisions clash with authority and family expectations, forcing them to confront the consequences of living true to themselves.

Next event: “Little Shop of Horrors”

And this isn’t the end of it. Polímono’s audience and fans have another date on May 27th. This time, they’ll be attending the premiere of “Little Shop of Horrors,” a fun and surprising show that combines humour, music, and unexpected situations.

The story follows Seymour, a young florist in love with his coworker Audrey. After a strange eclipse, Seymour buys a small plant, which he names Audrey II. What begins as a simple curiosity soon becomes a real sensation in the city, as the plant begins to move and even talk. However, no one suspects that it is an abominable creature that feeds on human blood.

The musical promises to fill the Aula Magna at the UPV’s Gandia Campus once again. Remember, Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30 p.m.
