Services fair

If you have just arrived at the UPV, find out what the Gandia campus has to offer you.

After the welcome days for new undergraduate and master’s students and the start of university teaching activities, the Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) held the Services Fair.

“The Services Fair complements the welcome days and helps new bachelor’s and master’s degree students feel supported from the very beginning. It is also an opportunity to discover university life and all the activities that will make their time at the Gandia campus a unique experience,” said Amparo Girona, Deputy Director of Students and Teaching Organization in the Technological Area.

Much to discover

The Library, the Institute of Educational Sciences, the Language and Cultural Promotion Office, the International Office, the Integrated Employment Service, the Sports Service, Ideas UPV, and the Alumni Delegation participated in this fair, personally attending to all the students’ queries.

This type of event makes it possible for us to reach out to students, as indicated by Glen, who mentioned that the delegation’s goal is to “introduce ourselves to the entire student body on campus and spread the word about what we do.”

The lobby of the G building was filled with students eager to learn about the different campus services and everything they have to offer: the library’s opening hours, the sports facilities, and the internship opportunities.

According to Guillem who is studying a double degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering, Sound and Image + Audiovisual Communication, “this kind of fairs give life to the campus and it is very good for new people to know the things we do,” he acknowledged. In fact, “it was very good for me when I started at the university”. For his part, Maite the fourth-year student of the Audiovisual Communication Degree, who has participated “every year,” says that “it’s important for the first-year people and all the people who are here make it a lot of fun.

Be part of Spontaneous Generation

Likewise, the Gandia campus Services Fair was attended by the following companies: Spontaneous Generation, the UPV program that acts as a platform for initiatives driven entirely by students.

Zaida is a member of Advanced EPSG, a new group within the Spontaneous Generation program. This fair serves as an opportunity to share ideas and “look for new profiles who want to be part of our teams. Advanced EPSG is looking for people who are passionate about technology, students in Environmental Sciences, as well as those in Tourism or Communication.”

On the Gandia campus, there are several groups working in diverse areas such as photography, theater, music, and reading, among others.

A PIAE+ initiative

The Services Fair is an initiative integrated into PIAE+, the Integral Student Support Plan, a UPV program designed to assist and support students from the moment they enroll in a degree, master’s, or doctoral program until the completion of their studies. Through PIAE+, Welcome Days and the University Tutorial Action Plan (PATU) are organized to facilitate students’ orientation, integration, and success in their personal development and comprehensive education.
