Five stories and a peak

The vital challenge that narrates The footprint and time comes to campus from one of its protagonists.

The footprint and time the award-winning documentary directed by Raúl Vaquero narrates the experience of five people who embark on an expedition to summit Vallunaraju, a mountain in Peru located at an altitude of almost 6,000 meters. The film argues that age is not a barrier, but “an opportunity to challenge physical and emotional limits”.

The screening comes to the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) through the Senior University program, offering the public the opportunity to approach an inspiring story and to participate in a space for reflection on the challenges and opportunities of aging in today’s society.

The protagonists of this true story are José Antonio, Leticia, Pepe, Álvaro and Pilar, a group of adventurers between 66 and 70 years old who faced enormous slopes and extreme cold, until they reached the summit of the Vallunaraju volcano. The documentary focuses on their experiences, marked “by overcoming, learning and passion for life, helping to break stereotypes associated with age and promote a more active and positive view of aging”.

After passing through various festivals,The footprint and time continues its trajectory as an inspiring and thought-provoking journey.

Theprojection of the documentary The footprint and time will take place on May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Aula Magna of the Gandia Campus as part of the cultural and educational program of the campus’ Senior University.
