European Master Degree in Plant Breeding


Introduction

The Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding (emPLANT) is offered by a partnership of leading European universities in the field of plant breeding, plant biology and seed technology.

Objectives

The aim of emPLANT emPLANT is to promote the training of highly qualified plant breeders at the master's level through a training programme which combines: science (agronomy, conventional breeding techniques, genetics, in vitro cultivation, biotechnology, bioinformatics and big data analysis), management (project management and accounting), law (intellectual property rights), inter-cultural competence and linguistic competences.

Structure

This Erasmus Mundus university master's degree as a full-time duration of two-years for postgraduate students, with a total of 120 ECTS distributed across 4 semesters. Teaching in the first two semesters is carried out alternately in Sweden (SLU) or France (LAS), while the second two semesters can be taken in either Spain (UPV), Finland (HU) or in Turkey (EgeU). All teaching activities will be in English except in the UPV, where they shall be carried out in Spanish.
