New for the 2026-2027 academic year
The Universitat Politècnica de València is launching 12 new master's degrees: 6 will be taught in Spain and 6 in China, at its new campus in Hangzhou
[ 02/04/2026 ]
Studying for a master's degree is the most direct pathway to specialist, high-quality training. Furthermore, holding this qualification usually translates into a higher salary, by an average of 11% according to a study by the BBVA Foundation and the IVIE. For these and other reasons, such as responding to labour market demand, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) will introduce 12 new master's programmes in the 2026–2027 academic year, representing one of the largest increases in its history.
Nine of these programmes have already opened their pre-enrolment period until 30 April, meaning they are currently accepting the first applications. Those that have not yet opened their pre-enrolment period will do so between 15 and 26 June.
Specifically, the new degree programmes being added to the UPV's existing offering in Spain are:
- Master's Degree in Audiovisual Technologies*
- Master's Degree in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability*
- Master's Degree in Advanced Materials* This programme is taught entirely in English.
- Maste's Degree in Space Engineering. This programme is taught entirely in English.
- Master's Degree in Industrialised Construction and Building Prototyping
- Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Engineering for Environmental Sustainability and International Cooperation
*Pre-enrolment now open
All of these programmes last one year, except the Master's degree in Space Engineering, which lasts 1.5 years.
In addition to these six programmes, several others will be taught at the recently inaugurated UPV campus in Hangzhou (China). In these cases, classes will be taught in English by both Spanish (UPV) and Chinese academic staff, mainly from Beihang University. Pre-enrolment is now open for all these master's programmes:
- Master's Degree in Aerospace Systems*
- Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence Technologies*
- Master's Degree in Wireless Communications*
- Master's Degree in Computer Science and Technology*
- Master's Degree in Robotics Engineering*
- Master's Degree in Intelligent Manufacturing*
Once pre-enrolment has been completed, places will be allocated according to the merits and criteria established for each programme; in other words, selection will be based primarily on the academic record, the curriculum vitae, the portfolio (if required) and the motivation letter.
Master’s Fair
Accessing as much information as possible under the best conditions is key to making the most informed decision. With this aim in mind, the UPV organises the Online Open Days for University Master's Degrees iat the beginning of June, a free event to explain the programmes, answer questions about admission and hear first-hand accounts from students and academic staff.
At the same time, another initiative that students greatly appreciate is the Master's Fair organised each year by the PIAE+ (Comprehensive Student Support Programme). This year, it brought together more than 300 students who received information on completing the enrolment process (timetable, required documentation, assessment procedures, etc.). They were also able to clarify specific queries regarding the master's programme they were interested in by asking the programme directors directly.
Via this link (in Spanish), you can access the event introduction, which contains general information about the UPV's master's programmes.
