The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is one of the 5 best universities in Spain, corroborated by the eleventh edition of the U-Ranking, which ranks the national university system according to the results of the institutions' teaching, research and innovation activities.
In its most recent update, the ranking prepared by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE) places the UPV in fourth place in the general classification, tied with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and as the only alternative to the Madrid-Barcelona axis present in the national top 5.
National reference at the teaching level in a ranking that analyses nearly 98% of the Spanish university system.
Likewise, the U-Ranking points to the institution currently directed by José E. Capilla as a national reference in the field of teaching and as a top 10 in all the global results, teaching and research and innovation.
This edition of the U-Ranking compares more than 3,600 official Bachelor's degrees from 71 Spanish universities, 48 public and 23 private, thus including around 98% of the Spanish university system.
The UPV, internationally recognised by all top-level rankings
The classification carried out by U-Ranking maintains the high valuation of the UPV, an institution recognised at a national level and by all the top international rankings.
Not in vain, in its most recent edition, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, popularly known as the Shanghai ranking) rated the UPV as the best technical university in Spain, as well as including it, for the 18th consecutive year, among the 500 best universities in the world.
Likewise, the latest QS World University Rankings (June 2022) included the UPV in the top 400 worldwide, indicating it as the best university in the Valencian Community.
Furthermore, last week, Times Higher Education (THE) recognised UPV as one of the 200 universities with the most significant social and economic impact in the world in 2023 THE University Impact Rankings, highlighting it as the 7th best university on the planet in SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 20th in SDG 13 (Climate Action) and 45th in SDG 4 (Quality Education).
