Next Wednesday, May 27, at 18:15 h, will take place the seminar “The role of materials science in the circular economy, from eco-design to resource recovery”, aimed at students of the Master’s Degree in Engineering, Processing and Characterization of Materials (MUIPCM) and open to the university community.
The session will be given by Dr. Yamila Victoria Vazquez, researcher at the Chemical Engineering Pilot Plant (PLAPIQUI) – Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina.
The seminar will address the role of materials science and technology in the transition to a circular economy, paying special attention to how design, material selection and processing decisions condition the generation, management and valorization of post-consumer materials. It will also analyze the limits of traditional recycling, the complexity associated with post-consumer materials, especially in the case of plastics, and the need to integrate eco-design, performance and end-of-life criteria from the early stages of product development.
The activity will allow students to learn about resource valorization strategies and applied examples, highlighting the link between scientific knowledge, technological development and transfer in the field of materials engineering.
The seminar will be held in the C1L4 Laboratory and will be open to the entire university community.
This activity is organized within the framework of the Master’s Degree in Engineering, Processing and Characterization of Materials and financed by the call DINT_26 – Dynamization and Internationalization of Master’s Studies, within the framework of the UPV SIRVE Strategic Plan.
