On April 29th, 2025, the University Master in Engineering, Processing and Characterization of Materials (MUIPCM) celebrated with great success its 1st Young Researchers Day – New Fields. The event brought together young scientists from Spain, Argentina and Poland in a day dedicated to the dissemination of innovative research and the analysis of the main current challenges in materials science, sustainability and technological innovation.
During the meeting, attendees were able to learn about cutting-edge advances in areas such as 3D bioprinting, product eco-design and the application of artificial intelligence in biopolymers. These lines of work represent the future of materials research and their integration into more sustainable and efficient industrial processes.
The conference was attended by Jesús Manuel Rodríguez Rego, from the University of Extremadura, specialized in bioengineering and 3D printing technologies; Franciszek Józef Pawlak, from Accenture Technology in Poland, with experience in the characterization of biodegradable materials through machine learning; and Yamila Victoria Vázquez, from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina), a researcher focused on sustainable technologies and the valorization of plastic waste.
The MUIPCM thanks all the speakers and participants for their involvement and enthusiasm, which have contributed to the success of this first edition of the Young Researchers Conference.
This activity is part of the project funded by the State Research Agency “Recycling and Valorization of Plastic Materials. Incorporation of Industrial and Post-consumer By-products (RED2022-134806-T)”.
