Access requirements

The requirements for access to this degree are those generally established in Royal Decree 822/2021, in the wording given in its article 18. Likewise, those established in the Regulations for Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) are also applicable.

In order to access the official university master’s degree courses, it is necessary to hold one of the following degrees:

  • Official Spanish university degree of Graduate or equivalent, or another University Master’s degree, or degrees of the same level as the Spanish Bachelor’s or Master’s degree issued by universities and institutions of higher education of a country of the EHEA that in that country allows access to Master’s studies.
  • Degrees from educational systems that do not form part of the EHEA, which are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, without the need for homologation of the degree, but with verification by the university of the level of training involved, provided that in the country where the degree was issued it allows access to postgraduate university studies. In no case will access by this route imply the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than that of carrying out the Master’s studies.
  • A foreign university degree recognized by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official Spanish university degree or a foreign higher education degree declared by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official university degree or academic level that allows access to a Master’s degree.
  • From an official university degree corresponding to the pre-EHEA system in accordance with the provisions of the first additional provision of Royal Decree 822/2021: Official degree of architect or architectess, graduate or engineer.
  • Exceptionally, students of a Spanish or EHEA degree who have yet to pass the TFG and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits may be conditionally admitted. Undergraduate students who have yet to accredit the knowledge of a foreign language required to obtain a bachelor’s degree may also be admitted.

Admission for disabled students

For students with specific educational needs arising from a disability, appropriate support and counseling services will be established to assess the needs of curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies, through the support of the CEDAT Foundation of the UPV.

The CEDAT Foundation of the UPV offers information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. In addition, it provides technical aids for study to those members of the student body who, due to their special educational needs, require it. It also promotes and manages training and employment actions for this group, both inside and outside the UPV campuses, and offers different services from its Special Employment Center.

The foundation also carries out projects for the elimination of architectural and urban barriers, comprehensive accessibility plans, accessibility audits, project reviews, advice and design of ideal accessibility models.

General information on access can be found in the Alumni Service – Access

Admission criteria

Applications will be ranked in descending order according to the score obtained after application of the following criteria:

In the case of transcripts graded on scales other than those indicated in RD 1125/2003, the applicant will be required to provide a statement of equivalence of average grades of university studies carried out in foreign centers obtained from the Ministry responsible for Universities. Those who do not provide this document will be assigned a 5 as the average grade point average.

Special entrance examinations or special admission criteria

In the case of non-native English speakers, an official certificate of proficiency level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) must be provided. The Academic Committee of the degree may consider conducting an interview for those candidates who do not have a certificate.
