You are warmly invited to participate in our international week from 9 November 2026 until 13 November 2026. Curious about what you can expect? Please keep on reading. This page includes important information about our event and a link to the registration form.

What is the purpose?

This year’s theme is the Future of Work in a Global Context: Advancing International Perspectives on Employability, Innovation and Skills Development and the event aims at both developing knowledge on this subject and enhancing our students’ intercultural understanding. Over 1000 THUAS-students from various faculties will participate.

What’s in it for you?

You will have a significant impact on our young professionals to be and broaden their horizons by educating and enhancing their vision and knowledge about the future of work in a global context, as globalization unites us all professionally and personally. You can inspire and get inspired by the whole setting of this event, expand your network with international colleagues from other universities and meet students from different faculties. Become part of our slogan: Let’s change you, us and the world!

The program

During the THUAS International Week we will offer a varied program to our students. As a visiting lecturer you have the freedom and creativity to come up with one or two activities you would like to facilitate. It is important to know that these should be related to the theme. Our students will have the opportunity to choose their desired activities beforehand. We highly encourage interaction as this will stimulate the engagement of our students in a positive way.

Lectures and workshops

On Wednesday the 11th of November and Thursday the 12th of November, 60-minute lectures with corresponding 120-minute workshops will be held. As mentioned above, the content should be related to the theme of the week. You will teach your lecture and host your workshop for approximately 60 students. Colleagues from our university will co-facilitate the workshop with you. Our aim is to link you to our colleagues before the week, to get acquainted. On Tuesday the 10th of November, we have reserved time for you to prepare the workshop together. If you are unsure whether your topic of interest will fit the theme of the week, just send us a message and we can discuss.

Interactive sessions and (social) activities

Besides the lectures and workshops, we will also organize interactive sessions and (social) activities which are meant to increase group cohesion, enhance cultural understanding and offer nice, engaging activities for our students. These activities will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in the afternoon and will last for 60 to 90 minutes. These do not have to be related to the theme of the week. Please fill out in the registration form if you would (also) like to facilitate such an activity.

There will be ample opportunity for you to get to know the university and network with other (visiting) lecturers.

Expenses

It’s possible for guest lecturers to apply for an Erasmus+ grant through their home institution to support their participation in the event. There is no registration fee required to participate. Participants will be responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation and daily allowance costs. We are happy to provide suggestions for accommodations in The Hague if needed.

Asunto: Invitation: Erasmus+ Staff Week on PhD Mobility (BIP) – RWTH Aachen University

Dear colleagues,

we are very pleased to invite you to participate in our upcoming Erasmus+ Staff Week on PhD Mobility, which will take place as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at RWTH Aachen University this winter.

The programme combines a short virtual component (held before the event) with an on-site week from 30 November to 4 December 2026 in Aachen.

As one of our close partner institutions with whom we have had particularly valuable exchange over the past years, we would be delighted to welcome participants from your institution. We see this staff week as an excellent opportunity to further strengthen our collaboration while exchanging experiences and best practices in the field of doctoral mobility.

Content:
The staff week will focus on key aspects of PhD mobility, with a particular emphasis on temporary doctoral exchanges, including different mobility formats, funding opportunities, mobility within university alliances, and the support of incoming doctoral candidates. While we already have experience in the area of incoming PhD mobility, we are currently in the process of developing our activities in outgoing mobility as part of our strategy. We therefore also see this staff week as a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and exchange in this field. Beyond the professional programme, the staff week offers valuable opportunities for networking, strengthening partnerships, and getting to know our beautiful city of Aachen just before Christmas. You can find a preliminary programme attached.

Target group:
It is designed for colleagues working in International Offices, Erasmus+ coordination, and other staff involved in PhD mobility.

We aim to host around 25 participants (max. two per institution) to ensure an interactive and engaging programme.

Application deadline: 30.06.2026

Registration Link: Register here

You will receive feedback on your application as soon as possible (31 July 2026 at the latest).
For funding reasons on our end, it is preferred that participants will be sent via Erasmus+ staff mobility (STT).

We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us in Aachen and contribute to this exchange. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Feel free to forward this offer to a suitable colleague!

We look forward to welcoming you!

Kind regards,

Amelie Meiners

Dear Partners,

SAMK will organise an international staff week for our partner universities’ staff members on 19 – 23 April 2027. The theme of the week is Resilient Futures: Innovation, Wellbeing and Global Collaboration. You and your colleagues are warmly welcome to visit us and get to know our campuses and our work.

During the week, you will have the opportunity to learn about our work, meet your colleagues, and explore the diverse facilities on our campuses! The programme also includes time for one-on-one discussions and collaboration planning on both teaching and research.

You can find more information and the preliminary programme of the week on this website: SAMK international staff week – SAMK – Satakunta University of Applied Sciences.

The registration form will open in October 2026. The deadline for registration is mid-December 2026.

If we receive a large number of registrations, we may have to limit the number of participants to a maximum of 2 persons per institution. In such case, we may have to prioritise participants coming from same sectors and units that are involved in our week.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Kind wishes,
on behalf of the organisers,
Noora Maja
