Making of Fest

First edition of the festival dedicated to cinema, videogames and audiovisual creation.

From November 24th to 30th, the city of Gandia will be transformed into a great film set. Among the selected areas to host the Making of Fest stands out the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) where the public will have the opportunity to discover great productions.

With a program that includes film screenings, conferences, exhibitions, concerts… Making of Fest is born with the desire to bring closer the creative processes behind cinema, video games and music, encouraging dialogue between professionals, fans and students. “It will be a meeting point between those who make films and those who consume them,” said Balbina Sendra, Councilor for Culture and Tourism during the presentation of the event.

Big names in the audiovisual industry

The festival will be attended by renowned creators such as David Trueba, Fernando Colomo, Antonio Hernández and cinematographer José Luis Alcaine, among others. “We want filmmakers and relevant professionals to share with the public how the process of creating their works has been,” explained Ricardo Torres, president of the eMove International Festival and the Making of Fest.

Among the activities, in addition to the film screenings are listed in the short film contest a exhibition dedicated to animated films, conferences and the Making of sessions where the creators will reveal to the public some of the secrets of their filming. Rafael Maluenda, Production Director of the Making of Fest, stressed that the educational and participatory value of the event “is an opportunity to access in a rare way to the creative processes of directors and filmmakers”.

The Campus of Gandia of the UPV will host the Making of sessions from The Neverending Story (Monday 24), Gladiator II, Top Gun: Maverick y Garden delights (Friday 28).
