International Animation Short Film Festival from October 23rd to 26th. Special presentation and screening of short films for UPV students on Friday, October 24.
With the sponsorship and collaboration of the Gandia Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the Gandia City Council and the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) comes Cortoons Festival 2025. The international short film contest that promotes quality audiovisual animation.
As in previous editions, the Aula Magna of the university campus will be the setting for the special presentation and screening of short films for UPV students. In addition, a talk on the use of available programs for animation, the techniques they allow and the applications of these tools has been organized by B-Water Animation Studios. It will be held on Friday, October 24, from 10:00 a.m. The entry is free of charge.
The return of Cortoons Festival
With more than 2,700 short films entered in the official competition and 110 participating countries, Gandia becomes the international epicenter of animation thanks to Cortoons. The animation short film festival celebrates this year its twenty-first edition. The event, which moved from Rome 9 years ago, will once again feature exceptional guests and content.
On this occasion, a meeting with the master of drawing Paco Roca and a dubbing show with Daniel Morales, also known as Hermoti, and Isatxa Mengíbar, the mythical voice of Lisa Simpson, have been programmed. In addition to these great moments, feature films will be screened out of competition: Flow,The boy and the heron y Memories of a snail. And retrospectives on Jan Svankmajer, Blu, Wallace and Gromit and Donald Duck and Walt Disney will complete the rich programming of Cortoons 2025.
