The Gandia Chair in Tourism and Promotion announces the awards for the best bachelor’s and master’s theses, which recognize academic work related to the study and improvement of tourist destinations.
The Gandia Chair in Tourism and Promotion has announced a new edition of its Awards for the Best Bachelor’s Theses (TFG) and Master’s Thesis (TFM). These awards are intended to recognize research and the development of innovative proposals that contribute to improving our understanding and management of tourist destinations, particularly related to Gandia or the Central Valencian Regions.
Six Awards to Promote Tourism Research
The call for entries includes two categories: Bachelor’s Theses and Master’s Theses. In each category, three prizes will be awarded: a first prize of 1,000 euros, a second prize of 600 euros, and a third prize of 400 euros, for a total prize fund of 4,000 euros.
Eligible for these awards are individuals who have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree program related to tourism during the 2024–2025 or 2025–2026 academic years, and who have defended their bachelor’s or master’s thesis at any Spanish university between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, or between October 1, 2025, and September 20, 2026.
Submitted papers must address issues related to tourism and have a direct connection to or application in Gandia or the Central Valencian Regions as a whole.
Innovation and Knowledge Transfer to the Region
The jury will place particular emphasis on the innovative nature of the projects, the quality of the methodology used, and their practical applicability. In addition, consideration will be given to the research’s contribution to the study of the environmental, economic, social, and technological challenges faced by sun-and-beach tourist destinations, such as Gandia.
The evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation in the work, its contribution to research on tourist destinations, its connection to Gandia or the Central Valencian Regions, and the academic grade earned.
How to Participate
Interested individuals may submit their applications with a bachelor’s or master’s thesis that meets the requirements set forth in the call for applications.
With these awards, the Gandia Chair in Tourism and Promotion at the Gandia Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia reaffirms its commitment to fostering university talent and generating knowledge applied to the development of a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable tourism model.
The application period will remain open until September 30, 2026.
