Chinese New Year

2026 is the year of the fire horse – will it also be when you make the leap to study or work in China?

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) joins, one more year, to the celebration of the Chinese New Year with a programming that brings the culture and academic reality of the Asian country closer to the entire university community.

Under the symbolism of the fire horse -associated with energy, passion and great changes-, the UPV’s links with China are growing closer every day, also with the launch of the studies that will be taught on the following day next course at Hangzou campus.

Gandia will celebrate Chinese New Year with parade, workshops and shows

The celebration of the Chinese New Year will also have a prominent role in the Gandia Campus of the UPV, involved, for the second consecutive year, in a meeting open to all citizens. The UPV, together with the City Council of Gandia, Moll Motor, the Tongwen Institute and the Association of Chinese Merchants of the Valencian Community, promotes an initiative that combines interculturalism, urban revitalization and promotion of local trade.

The program includes workshops on calligraphy, gastronomy, tea ceremony and traditional clothing, as well as the traditional parade and the lion dance, which will turn the capital of the Safor into a meeting point between cultures.

The appointment will be on February 21, from 4:00 pm, in front of City Hall, when the five free workshops will begin. At 18:00 hours will start the parade, which will travel along the Paseo de las Germanías, San Francisco de Borja Street, Plaza de las Escuelas Pías and Calle Mayor, until it reaches the Town Hall Square.
