CAVIDA 2025 Award

Proposal for the creation of a communications plan for the podcast En Diveresidad, by Marc Savall.

In order to get more plays on the episodes of En Diversidad a podcast “that seeks the normalization of disability and the promotion of inclusion in our society”, Marc Savall – audiovisual communicator, podcaster and responsible for the space – prepared a communication plan that in turn became his “TFM for the Master’s Degree in Transmedia Communication”.

The work Proposal for the creation of a communication plan for the podcast In Diversity has been honored in the fifth edition of the Juan Arizo Serrulla Chair CAVIDA Award. This award recognizes the work, study or report by students of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) “that has been aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities”.

For Marc, “receiving the award from Asunción Arizo was a great joy and a great recognition of all the work behind the podcast En Diversidad”. He also has words of thanks for his family, especially “for my father, my mother and my sister”, and for the tutor of his work, Professor Raúl Terol.

In diversity

Marc has a degree in Audiovisual Communication, Master in Digital Postproduction y Master in Transmedia Communication. He has completed his university studies at the Gandia campus of the UPV, and “having a good education is essential – recognizes Marc – and the more we prepare ourselves, the better we will do what we like, and disability – Marc suffers from Becker muscular dystrophy -, does not have to be an obstacle, although sometimes it can make it more difficult for us to do things”.

Upon completion of the degree in 2022, he decided to start up En Diversidad born from her Final Degree Project, this podcast seeks to eliminate prejudices and make visible the capabilities of people with functional diversity through interviews and inspiring testimonies. Because although much remains to be done, “the future also belongs to people with disabilities”.

Of his time in the Transmedia Master’s program, taken during 2024-2025, he emphasizes that “it has been a great opportunity to meet people, students and faculty, who are passionate about the same topics as me, and to keep me updated in the world of communication, which is constantly evolving, and what is more important, to apply it in projects in which everything learned in the classroom is put into practice”. In addition, the work he presented at the end of this master’s degree, has earned him the CAVIDA Award, which has valued “the originality, innovation, functionality and feasibility” of his TFM.

Marc is currently finalizing the details of what will be the third season of the project in which – as he has confirmed – “we will make the leap from podcast to videopodcast”.

With the prize, endowed with two thousand euros, “I will give more diffusion to the podcast En Diversidad and I will improve some of the hardware or software used”. But, first and foremost, “it’s celebrating with the family”.

Congratulations, Marc!
