Destination branding: towards a powerful tourism brand for Gandia

What makes a tourism brand powerful? How can Gandia build a distinctive and competitive identity? What strategies connect with the new tourist profile? These are some of the questions that will be addressed during the conference The tourist destination brand: towards a powerful tourism brand for Gandia.

The session, organized by the Gandia Chair of Tourism and Promotion with the support of the Gandia Campus and the Gandia City Council, becomes a space for academic and professional reflection on the management of tourism brands and their role in the competitiveness of destinations.

Keys to building and maintaining a powerful tourism brand

In a context of increasing competition between destinations and the digital transformation of tourism, this conference proposes to analyze the fundamentals and strategies for building powerful and sustainable brands, capable of generating value and differentiation.

The meeting will be hosted by Eulogio Bordas recognized international expert in planning, marketing and branding of destinations. In his speech will address the keys to creating and maintaining a truly powerful tourism brand, as well as strategies for the renewal of the Gandia brand within the public-private initiative that promotes its tourist repositioning.

The session is aimed at tourism students and hospitality, tourism professionals, destination managers, marketing and sales professionals and workers, public officials, HORECA entrepreneurs, and representatives of civil society.

With this initiative, the Gandia campus of the UPV, where the Degree in Tourism and the double degree in Business Administration and Management + Tourism reaffirms its vocation as an academic and scientific forum of reference in the analysis of the challenges of contemporary tourism, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and the strengthening of links between universities, institutions, civil society and the productive sector.

Among the most influential Spanish tourism professionals

Eulogio Bordas is one of the most reputable voices in the tourism industry. He is a consultant for major destinations, tour operators and hotel groups and holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing, and a diploma in Hotel Management from Cornell University (New York).

In 1985 he founded THR, a consulting firm dedicated to advising tourism companies and destinations, which has become a world reference. Bordas is also an advisor to various international organizations related to the world of tourism, such as the Business Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). He is also a member of the Tourist Research Centre (TRC) and a permanent advisor to prestigious hotel chains.
