The program Senior University of the Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) will celebrate the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2025-2026 on Tuesday, October 7, at 12:00 noon. The inaugural lecture, entitled “Classical music, music of minorities?”, will be given by Telmo Gadea, professor at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Josep Climent de Oliva.
University training for the over 50s
The program Senior University driven by the Vice-Rectorate for Art, Science, Technology and Society of the UPV was implemented on the Gandia campus during the 2017-2018 academic year and has since been very well received. Its academic design is specifically oriented to people over 50 years old interested in remaining linked to the university environment and expanding their knowledge in various areas of knowledge.

A journey through contemporary Gandia, History of the XVIII Egyptian dynasty, The Mediterranean cultural landscape and its formative factors, Sustainable aquaculture, Tools for a critical and conscious media consumption are some of the subjects included in the program of the ninth edition of the Senior University of the Gandia campus.
The program, which has been very well received, has increased the number of places offered. In addition, two groups have been established to facilitate attendance: one on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the other on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes will be held from October 13, 2025 to June 3, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm and from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
With this initiative, the Gandia campus reaffirms its commitment to lifelong learning and educational inclusion, offering an open and enriching university space for all stages of life.
