The China Chair Awardsin the category of Academic Institution, have distinguished the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), in its ninth edition. This award from the China Chair Foundation recognizes the extensive educational exchanges and academic agreements made by the UPV with China. Specifically, in 2025, it highlights the opening of the first Spanish university center in this Asian country, the Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute (BVPI).
The rector of the UPV, José Capilla, convinced that the major scientific and technological problems will be solved in the Asia-Pacific region, is committed to strengthening relations with Chinese academic institutions, extending the “multicultural experience not only to students and researchers but also to the management and technical staff of the university”. This was explained in a interview granted to Global Worldthe magazine of the China Chair Foundation.
The awards ceremony was held on February 7, in Madrid and, on behalf of the rector, the vice rector of Internationalization and Communication of the UPV, Jose Monserrat del Río, attended.
