From the ANDERSEN UPV Chair and brings maritime transport and international logistics closer to the student body

On May 28th took place a new training session organized by the ANDERSEN UPV Chair of Sustainability and Regulated Markets, focused on “Maritime transport of goods: contracts and claims”. The session was given by Robyn Gutierrez, director of the litigation area of Andersen, with more than 20 years of experience in dispute resolution, national and international trade, insurance, maritime law, transport and arbitration.

During the session, key issues related to maritime transport and international logistics were addressed, such as the subjects of navigation -ship, shipowner and vessel-, multimodal transport and the figure of the freight forwarder, maritime transport contracts, as well as the responsibilities, deadlines and applicable legislation in this area.

The training aroused special interest among Logistics and Transport students, who were able to delve into a strategic sector for the economy and international trade. In addition, the role of Valencia as one of the main ports in Spain and the Mediterranean was highlighted, which makes the city a key reference for maritime transport and logistics activity.

This type of initiative brings students closer to the professional reality, providing them with practical knowledge and an applied vision that will be of great use both in the final stage of their studies and in their future careers.
