Also known as assessment matrix. They consist of an instrument for assessing and qualifying student learning, knowledge or performance in a specific activity (or in a module, block or subject) following criteria or indicators and a rating scale for each of them.

To assess the acquisition of competences.
To clarify what is expected of the student's work, evaluate its execution, and facilitate feedback.
To obtain information at the different stages of learning.
To evaluate student products with objectivity and consistency.
