Definition

A strategy based on systematic collection of data in a learning context and in relation to student performance, skills and attitudes.

It can be carried out using different instruments, such as anecdotal records, checklists and rating scales.

Purpose

To evaluate imperceptible learning outcomes through a systematic and verifiable compilation of information.
To get information on attitudes by observing behaviours, skills and procedures.
To assess the development of certain procedures.
To assess the learning process.
